The Mountain View Trade School was built and run by Rise India. The college was built with the intention of helping to provide education for rural students, so they can have the option of finding job opportunities. We also provide an education/job for students who are rejected by society and in need, including Dalits, untouchables, and Temple Prostitute children. Because they are such outcasts, they have very little educational opportunities, and usually end up in poverty that continues generation after generation. We seek to end this generational poverty by giving them skills to earn a living and feel that they have worth as human beings. We teach the trades of Welding, Metalworking, and Electrician. Our purpose is (as the old saying goes): teach them to catch a fish, instead of giving them a fish. (“If you give a man a fish, he will eat today, but teach a man to fish and he will eat forever.”)
